I am your first adventure. Every day is time to play and it’s always better when we’re together!
Unleash the munchkins and squeal for joy at a new playground every day. You’ll find amazing public playgrounds in Anglesea, while caravan parks and group accommodation venues offer awesome bonus play spaces.
Make a splash in the Anglesea River. Who can resist the brightly coloured fun boats and kayaks you see near the bridge almost every day of the year? The whole family will want in on the action! It’s a great new way to see Anglesea too. Hire a motorised paddle boat or and kayak and get oar-some.
Tip: if you want to take it easy sit in the back!
Where giggles and adventure await. The estuary’s shallow waters are a perfect intro to the ocean, while smaller swells are ideal for learning to surf. Swim, build sandcastles, boogie board or just hang out.
What a combo! The Anglesea Golf Club is famous for its resident kangaroos. They have regular Roo Tours and mini-golf awaits those who are a little less than pro.
Ask any surfer — nothing beats the freedom you feel when you first stand up on the board. Or seeing the grin on the face of a child who’s just caught their first wave. The gentle waves on Main Beach are ideal for learners young (and not-so-young). Take a lesson or hire a board to get in on the action – and yes, this is one for the whole family, not just the kids!
Answer the call of the wild! Wander walking trails through the Anglesea wetlands to spot ducks and hear Pobblebonk frogs croaking their natural symphony! In spring (Sept-Nov) explore the Anglesea Heath abloom with wildflowers; stroll the easy 3km trail and maybe chance upon beautiful rare orchids.
Take the littlies for a stroll on a shorter section or commit to a more challenging distance — the Surf Coast Walk connects the Great Ocean Road coastal townships from Fairhaven right through to Torquay.
The Anglesea riverbank brims with tracks and boardwalks traversing through changing landscapes — perfect for relaxing or pocket-sized adventures. Try throwing in a line from one of the fishing platforms or a bridge to see what’s biting!
